I have a Brother SE400 embroidery machine :D It doesn’t make HUGE patches but it’s fantastic for a beginner or someone who doesn’t need to embroider anything larger than about 4-5” across.  They’re about $350 on Amazon, which is cheaper than what I paid for it, but be aware that you’ll need to use digitizing software if you want to make custom embroidery patterns.
